Questions and answers
Do I need an account?
Playing locally needs no account. To host an online room you sign in with Apple or Google; players can join as guests without an account.
How many people can play?
Timeline runs locally with 1 to 6 players and online in private rooms with 2 to 6. Whose photo? needs at least 3 players online.
Do I need photos of my own?
No. The starter deck has royalty-free photos with a documented year, so you can start right away.
How does Fotanni know the year of my photos?
It reads the capture year from the image data (or the file name) on your device and you can change a year in the deck. Location data (GPS) is never read.
How do I invite others?
Open a private room and share its code or link; the lobby also shows a QR code. Others enter the code under “Join a room” or open the link.
Are there other games?
Yes, Pairs: a quick bonus round. Flip cards and find the ones that show the same photo.
Is there a subscription?
No. Fotanni Pro is a one-time purchase without a subscription that unlocks more decks, more photos and larger online rounds. Purchases are only possible via “For parents”.
Who is Fotanni for?
For friends and family aged 12 and over. There are no ads and no public gallery.
Purchases and restoration
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Use the same store account used for the original purchase when restoring. A store purchase and an optional app account are separate.
Important information
- Do not share photos unless you hold the necessary rights and consents.
- Report problematic content in the app or by email with the room code and a precise description, without adding unnecessary personal data.
- Electronic point of contact for authorities and users (Arts. 11 and 12 DSA): support@fotanni.app. We reply in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
- Report illegal content (Art. 16 DSA): email support@fotanni.app with a reason why the content is illegal, the exact location (e.g. room code), and your name and email address. We confirm receipt and tell you our decision by email. The in-app photo report is faster.
